ADA Membership after Graduation

There is a membership category that’s right for you!

Zero Dollar Dues for New Graduates

Ease into dentist membership dues with the ADA Reduced Dues Program. The first full calendar year following dental school graduation, the national dues rate is $0;

  • in the second year after dental school, it is 25 percent
  • in the third year, 50 percent;
  • in the fourth year, 75 percent,
  • and in the fifth year and thereafter, it is 100 percent.

Most state and local dental societies offer similar reductions, and the program requires continuous membership from dental school graduation.

  • Tripartite offers membership at the local, state and national levels—if you are an associate, an employee, a partner, or an owner, this is the category for you!
  • Direct membership offers select graduates an option to join the ADA directly.
    • Graduate Student membership offers ADA direct membership for $30 annually
    • Provisional membership is available for graduates who have not established a practice location
    • Federal Dental Services membership is available for dentists in the federal services and public health sectors

Recent graduates who enter into a graduate program within the five years following dental school graduation pay the graduate student rate of $30/year during the program, and are eligible to either begin or resume the Reduced Dues Program schedule upon completion.
