The Council on Education & Licensure provides leadership in the area of dental licensure by educating members about the licensure process. The Council also maintains collaborative relationships with licensure-communities of interest and actively pursues opportunities to move ASDA’s licensure agenda forward.  The council works on issues in the areas of dental education and research.  The Council also serves as a resource in student participation in dental research.

Recent accomplishments of this council:

• Developed the content for the evidence-based dentistry webpage on www.ASDAnet.org.
• Determined the need and potential use of a white paper assessing the impact of eliminating the use of live patient exams in the licensure process.
• Suggested edits to ASDA’s L1 policy.
• Implemented the first Student Research Poster Session at Annual Session 2012.
