ASDA recognizes the efforts of its individual members and chapters through its Gold Crown Awards (formerly Ideal Chapter awards and Journalism Awards). Don’t miss your chance to the walk the red carpet and receive the prestigious honor this year!
All activities, events and communications that took place between Jan. 1, 2011-Dec. 31, 2011 are eligible for a Gold Crown award. Awards will be presented at a special ceremony held during ASDA’s Annual Session in Minneapolis, Minn. on March 2, 2012.

Gold Crown Award Categories
ASDA presents Gold Crown Awards for chapter achievements, individual and chapter excellence in journalism, and delegate leadership.
Chapter Achievements
The Gold Crown Awards for chapter achievements recognizes outstanding achievements in the areas of membership and communications, fundraising, activities, organized dentistry, predental involvement and ethics. The Ideal Chapter category names one school that excels in all of the individual award areas. Applications are judged by the Ideal ASDA Chapter Award committee, which includes members of the board of trustees and the council on membership.

Excellence in Journalism
ASDA honors excellence in journalism by presenting awards for chapter newsletters, chapter websites and best articles in Mouth and ASDA News. The current editorial board judges applications. Download the application for award eligibility and criteria.

Awards are also given in the category of best Mouth article and best ASDA News article. All articles published between Jan. 1, 2011-Dec. 31, 2011 are considered for these awards. No application is required.
Delegate of the Year
Each year, trustees select one delegate in their district for their District Delegate of the Year Award. The executive committee then selects one individual as the recipient of the National Delegate of the Year Award. District Delegates of the Year and the National Delegate of the Year are presented during the Gold Crown Awards ceremony at Annual Session. No application is required.
