The Council on Communications is responsible for improving communications between ASDA’s leadership and membership by creating and disseminating information via various media channels. The council reviews content on the ASDA website and guides digital initiatives including ASDA’s social media and videos. The council acts as a resource for chapter communication efforts (e.g., chapter newsletters and websites).
- The Council reviewed ASDAnet.org and provided feedback on content, structure and aesthetics. Staff made changes based on council feedback.
- The Council created a new how-to guide for starting a chapter newsletter. Tips from past Gold Crown Award winners were included. Visit ASDAnet.org to access the guide.
- A video editor position was added to the 2015-16 Council on Communications to focus on the association’s video needs.
- During the 2014-15 leadership year, the council and video subcommittee produced six videos: “Chapter President Training,” “Chapter Treasurer Training,” “Chapter Legislative Liaison Training,” “5 Steps to Chapter Sponsorship,” “Understanding District Leadership” and “Chapter Idea Sharing In Action.” Visit ASDA on YouTube to access these videos.
