CHICAGO — The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has selected Mouthing Off as the recipient of a 2011 Gold Circle Award. The annual competition honors associations and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate excellence in communication across eleven categories, including magazines, newsletters, websites, blogs, podcasts, media relations campaigns and innovative communications. Mouthing Off was launched by the American Student Dental Association in 2010 and features student and staff-written posts published three times a week.
“ASAE Gold Circle Award recognizes top tier association communication programs that are not just good—they're the best in class,” said Brad Monterio, chair of the ASAE Communication Section Council. “This year's winners serve as shining examples of effective communication practices combined with creativity, design and innovation, and rooted in solid strategies.”
Kim Schneider, communications editor, manages the blog. “We wanted Mouthing Off to be a place where dental students could exchange news and ideas on a weekly basis. From the beginning, quality content has been the foundation of the blog and it's great to be recognized for that.”
ASDA will continue to bring innovative ideas, important dental-related issues and student stories to light through its blog posts. To read more, visit www.ASDAblog.com.
