What or who inspired you to become a dentist? I began my dental career as a dental hygienist and developed a passion for patient care. Even though I loved my job, I eventually wanted to see patient treatment through from start to finish instead of just handling the preventive aspect, so I decided to go back to dental school.
Before starting dental school, I wish I had known… how to better balance school with personal time.
What is your favorite thing about your current year in dental school? Our academic schedule offers more balance, so I have been able to take a larger role in ASDA.
What is your least favorite thing about your current year in dental school? We had our local anesthesia lab this semester. I don’t like needles!
What has been your toughest lesson learned in dental school so far? To accept the stress, but not let it bring me down.
What is your favorite place you’ve traveled and why? I drove up to Acadia National Park in Maine last summer. We camped, hiked and dove off of a cliff! The scenery was so beautiful, and the air had this wonderful salty smell.
What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done? I jumped out of a plane when I went sky-diving.
