Description

Incoming and outgoing chapter leaders often have limited time together to transition their roles and ensure that the new leader has all the information they need to begin a successful term. Established procedures can be helpful in minimizing missteps or details falling through the cracks, but not all outgoing leaders and chapters have these details outlined prior to the new leader stepping in. Join this session to discuss tips and strategies that other chapter leaders are using to effectively transition chapter positions.

Overview

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Establish practices to compile and share position-specific documentation and resources for annual leadership transitions.
  2. Identify best practices to orient leaders to their new role and how they will work with other leaders within the chapter.
  3. Navigate ways to transition incomplete projects between the outgoing and incoming leaders.
