Contributing is Easy

Step 1: Complete this online form and you will be contacted by a member of the Editorial Board. Please be patient as we contact writers on a first-come, first-served based.

Step 2: Write an original article and send it to your editor when complete (we’ll give you a deadline, word count, some tips and help you along the way).

Tips for Submitting a Good Article

  • Use a lead paragraph to set the stage
  • Address the 5 Ws: Who? What? When? Where? Why?
  • Include research findings and stats when appropriate
  • Stick to one idea per sentence
  • Keep it simple — no need to blow the reader away with big words
  • Incorporate photos

Submit a Letter to the Editor

Do you have a response or praise for something you read in Contour? Consider writing a letter to the editor. Here’s how:

  1. Read ASDA’s Editorial Policy below.
  2. Send your letter to Frances Moffett, publications manager, with “letter to the editor” as the subject.
  3. You’ll be notified whether or not your letter will be published and when.

ASDA's Editorial Policy

Letters should be exclusive to Contour. Letters should be no more than 350 words and will be edited for length, grammar, clarity and accuracy if needed. Letters subjected to substantial editing will be returned to the author for review prior to publication.

Letters should refer to an article that has appeared within the past 3-4 months. Letters will be reviewed and approved by the editor-in-chief.

If a letter is approved, the author of the article referred to within the letter will be notified. The author can submit a response of no more than 350 words. Both the letter and response must be submitted in a timely manner to run in the same publication issue.

Submission of a letter to the editor is no guarantee of publication.
