Traditionally, ASDA members hear about how to get involved in national leadership through events and networking. With events reduced this year in light of the pandemic, we are excited to host a National Leader Virtual Meet and Greet to give members the chance to learn more about leadership opportunities at the national level. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose rooms specific to each council to ask questions and hear from current national leaders.

This event will be divided into three 15-minute sessions. Attendees will have the opportunity to select which council room they’d like to enter for 15 minutes. At the end of the 15 minutes, attendees may choose to enter a new council’s room, or stay in the current room. 

Many chapters have begun transitioning their leadership responsibilities to their newly elected officers. As a new leader, you may be uncertain of how to address questions about ASDA’s membership structure, member benefits, or the process for students to become members. During this session, the ASDA Membership Department will present an orientation to these topics, discuss commonly asked member questions, and address other questions you may have about ASDA membership.

Collaboration and communication are key when it comes to advocating for current issues affecting dental students. Now more than ever, it is important to engage members in advocacy opportunities and deliver timely updates about ASDA’s advocacy efforts. During this chapter idea exchange, discuss strategies on how to deliver information to members about key issues they’re facing and create virtual advocacy events that empower members to get involved.
