There are many options when choosing your career path, especially if you are considering a specialty. How do you know which one is right for you?

In this session, ASDA alum, Dr. Jennifer Giltner will share her insights about a career in orthodontics, from selecting a specialty to residency and practice. You’ll receive an overview of how and why she chose to specialize in orthodontics. You’ll also gain insight into various residency application and selection processes, and hear about what a typical day could look like in residency and practice to get a better understanding of the specialty overall.

Giltner J PhotoJennifer Quist Giltner, DMD MS; LECOM ’17; 2015-16 District 5 Trustee

Dr. Jennifer Quist Giltner graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in English. She received her dental degree from LECOM School of Dental Medicine and, while there, she served ASDA as the 2015-16 District 5 Trustee and the 2016-17 Chair to the Council on Membership. Dr. Giltner continued to residency at Seton Hill University Center for Orthodontics where she received her M.S. in Orthodontics. Developing lasting relationships with her patients has always been a priority which lead her to the specialty of orthodontics.

Having grown up in Colorado, Dr. Giltner and her husband decided to settle in a different set of mountains and found themselves in Asheville, North Carolina where an outdoor, brewery-centric lifestyle was a focus. They can often be found outdoors exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains with their two dogs.
