There are a variety of factors that contribute to your financial health and a number of avenues to take to manage your personal finances. In this session, ASDA alum Dr. Kyle Larsen will share his take on 3 areas that can help set you up for long-term financial stability including: assessing your current finances, establishing an emergency fund and paying off your debts. You’ll gain an understanding of how you can use these tools to create a plan that supports your financial goals from someone who’s been in your shoes.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Take steps to evaluate their current financial health.
  2. Utilize tips to plan for expected liabilities when setting financial goals (purchasing a car, home, practice, etc.).
  3. Explore loan repayment options to best suit their needs.
  4. Create an emergency fund as a means to anticipate unexpected changes in finances.

Dr. Kyle Larsen graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2017. During his time in school, he served in many ASDA positions including President of the Colorado Chapter and District 9 Trustee. He is currently the Dental Director at Salud Family Health Centers (a community health center) in Trinidad, CO. He also acts as Clinical Instructor/Preceptor for 4th year dental students on their rotations.
