Why do you want to be a dentist?
I’ve always known that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field since I was in middle school, but it wasn’t until the end of high school that I knew I wanted to be a dentist. Witnessing the transformative impact that dentistry has on countless lives has been extremely invaluable to me. Growing up without consistent healthcare and financial issues made it a challenge to receive dental care. Noticing the effects it had on my sister, my mom, and even myself, made it extremely apparent how crucial accessible healthcare is. Financial hardships should never be a barrier to essential dental work, and I aim to provide my patients with enough tools to ensure they can get the help they need. My overarching goal is to evoke overwhelming joy in my patients when they see their new smile and help empower them with newfound levels of self-confidence.

What are you most excited about for dental school?
I’m thrilled to be in a community of like-minded individuals who share my passion. I think it is really comforting knowing that you are going through the same experiences as your classmates, especially when dealing with difficult coursework. I am also excited for the dual opportunity for personal and professional growth while I learn about the intricate world of dentistry.

Why do you think you’ll make a good dentist?
I think I will make a good dentist because I am understanding and empathetic. As I recognize the common fear that many experience during dental visits, I am committed to alleviating any anxieties my patients may face. I will strive to actively listen to each patient and foster a strong and reliable relationship. Ensuring that my patients feel genuinely comfortable when entering the office will be one of my top priorities.

What excites you most about ASDA?
ASDA provides me with great resources that build my capabilities as a Pre-Dental student. As the first person in my family to pursue a career that is medically related, I’ve gained an immense amount of help from ASDA’s countless resources that I feel extremely thankful for. Another thing that excites me about ASDA is the opportunity to make more connections among peers in this community.
