The ASDA Predental Advisory Committee is appointed for a year-long term by the Board of Trustees to develop and provide feedback on predental student initiatives. Committee members work closely with the predental consultant and provide insight into ASDA’s predental members.  

The advisory committee comprises the predental consultant and five predental members. 

  • The predental consultant oversees the committee and serves as liaison between the Predental Advisory Committee and the Council on Membership.
  • Predental committee members participate in all conference calls.

Term Length: Annual Session 2019 - Annual Session 2020

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must be an active predental member at the time of application and throughout the term of office (applications will not be accepted from predental members who will start dental school during their term).
  2. Must be able to attend all required meetings listed below and conference calls when necessary.
  3. Will complete projects or resolutions assigned by the House of Delegates or Board of Trustees.
  4. Must be able to complete assignments and responsibilities by established deadlines.

Responsibilities

Predental member benefit strategy

  • Provides feedback to staff on new resources, benefits and communications for predental members.
  • Stays up-to-date on changes to dental school application process and communicates changes to staff.
Predental recruitment and engagement strategy

  • Helps promote and recruit predental members.
  • Assists planning ASDA’s Predental Month and DAT Week.
Committee management

  • Serves as a non-voting consultant to the Council on Membership to provide council with insight into the unique needs of ASDA’s predental members.
  • Supervises the activities of the Predental Advisory Committee.
  • Works with staff to generate call agendas.
  • Mentors committee members.
  • Assists with orientation and transition of new committee members.
