The Community Service Committee provides the member voice in developing community service and outreach resources that support chapters and the communities they serve, including planning service events, mentoring chapter community service leaders and relaying community service activities and issues to national ASDA.

The committee comprises one chair, 13 district liaisons and board liaisons.

Position Descriptions

Community Service Committee Chair

Term Length: Annual Session 2027-Annual Session 2028

The Community Service Committee Chair is appointed by the ASDA Board of Trustees.

The Community Service Committee Chair:

  • Supervises the activities of the Community Service Committee.
  • Mentors committee district liaisons.
  • Approves all committee meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Provides community service resources for chapters and districts as needed.
  • Oversees Community Service Month.
Meetings

The Community Service Committee meets quarterly, with other opportunities to connect with chapter community service chairs throughout the term.

Community Service Committee District Liaison

Term Length: Spring 2027-Annual Session 2028

District liaisons are appointed by their district trustee.

Community Service Committee District Liaisons:

  • Mentors chapter leaders to support community service programming and initiatives.
  • Provides community service resources for chapters and districts as needed.
  • Oversees Community Service Month.
Meetings
The Community Service Committee meets quarterly, with other opportunities to connect with chapter community service chairs throughout the term.
