How has ASDA helped you build your leadership skills?
ASDA has honestly given me opportunities I never would have had otherwise. From serving at the district level to helping lead my chapter, I have learned to communicate with diverse personalities, advocate for students, and lead through successes and challenges. One of the biggest things ASDA taught me is that leadership is less about a title and more about consistently showing up for the people you represent. It has pushed me to become more confident, more professional, and more intentional in the way I lead others.

What do you think is the most vital quality in a leader?
I think the most important quality in a leader is authenticity. People can tell when someone genuinely cares about them and when they are only leading for themselves. The best leaders are approachable, dependable, and willing to serve others first. You do not have to have all the answers, but you do need to be someone people can trust.

Why should members get involved with ASDA leadership positions?
ASDA leadership gives students a chance to make a real impact while also growing personally and professionally. You build relationships across your school and across the country, learn how organized dentistry works, and develop skills that carry over far beyond dental school. Some of my closest friendships and most meaningful experiences in dental school have come through ASDA. It also gives students a voice and the opportunity to help shape the profession's future.

What future leadership roles in organized dentistry interest you and why?
I would love to stay involved in organized dentistry through organizations like theColorado Dental Association and the American Dental Association after dental school. ASDA has shown me how important advocacy, mentorship, and strong leadership are for the future of dentistry. I am especially interested in roles that allow me to support students and young dentists while also advocating for patients and the profession as a whole. I have really enjoyed being part of something bigger than myself through ASDA, and I would like to continue that throughout my career.
